Bixby Knolls is a charming community tucked away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Located in the northeast region of Long Beach, California, this historic neighborhood has its own shopping center.

Bixby Knolls is comprised of older homes that were built in the early 1920s and are surrounded by mature landscaping. There is a variety of architecturally beautiful single family homes and condos. Although residents enjoy their privacy, this community covers a large area just east of the 405 Freeway and is close to freeway access. The Long Beach Airport is just minutes away to the southwest. The beach and downtown area is only about 20 miles away.

If you’re looking for private schooling there is a long list that includes Cambodian Christian School, Parkridge Private School, St. Anthony High School, Oakwood Academy, and Los Altos Brethren School. This community is served by the Long Beach Unified School District with facilities such as Hughes Middle School and Polytechnic High School as well as highly ranked Longfellow Elementary School. This is also the home of California State University, Long Beach as well as Long Beach City College, DeVry University, and Pacific Coast University School of Law.

The Bixby Knolls Shopping Center is within walking distance and offers many merchants To the east is the Virginia Country Club which offers an 18-hole course with 6,505 yards and a par of 71. This course offers a 70.9 rating and 123 slope rating on Bermuda grass.

Long Beach is the state’s 7th largest city and has 17 historic districts including Carroll Park, California Heights, and Rose Park. There is a variety of Spanish, Tudor, and California bungalows. There are many cultural activities at venues like the Long Beach Museum of Art, the Bob Cole Conservatory of Music, and the Long Beach Symphony.
